The program is a residential consumer replacement program only and HVAC equipment was added for sales made after July 29th, 2010. The funding is limited so the rebates are on a first- come, first-served basis. Program information can be found on www.cash4appliances.org
Residential replacement HVAC equipment rebates available
Requirements:
- Must purchase a new qualifying appliance model to replace an existing appliance of the same type (one per homeowner).
- Must recycle the replaced appliance with an eligible recycler, consistent with California law. The Energy Commission will publish a list of eligible recyclers on its website at: www.energy.ca.gov/recovery/energystar.html.
- Must submit a completed rebate application to the Energy Commission’s rebate services provider within 120 days of the date of the appliance purchase that includes proof of purchase and recycling. The funding is limited so the rebates are on a first- come, first-served basis.
- Executed building permit, if required by state or local law.
